Step 1 — Identify which client you are running in (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor,
VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or other).

Step 2 — Install for that client only. If a "goodnumbers" MCP entry already exists, replace
it. When editing a JSON config file, read it first and merge the new entry — never
overwrite other entries.

Step 3 — Read the config file back to verify it was written, then tell the user to start a
new session (running sessions do not reload MCP config).
Then tell the user to replace YOUR_KEY in the config with their own key.

list_scansThe firm’s last 50 scans with per-scan tallies (good / reassigned / no_data / errors).
get_scan_resultsResult rows for one scan, up to 500. Optionally filter by status. Rows reading no_data, error or pending are not clearances — escalate them to a human.
run_scanRun a scan now instead of waiting for the monthly cron. Spends RND queries and, unless send_report is false, emails the firm its report. Refused until the firm’s Letter of Authorization is approved.

submit_leadJoin the contact list for a firm that is not ready to sign up. No key needed. Only set tcpa_consent true if the firm actually consented to calls/texts — it is recorded and relied on.
signup_firmCreate a firm account and receive the onboarding token. No key needed. firm_address and firm_phone are effectively required — the FCC Letter of Authorization needs both, and a missing one stalls the administrator review. Next steps after this: sign_agreement, then sign_loa.
sign_agreementExecute the Good Numbers Services Agreement for a firm. THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING SIGNATURE on behalf of the named signer — only call it with that person’s explicit authorization, with agree set to true by them. Returns a SHA-256 signature reference to keep.
sign_loaExecute the FCC Letter of Authorization for a firm (requires the Services Agreement signed first — 409 otherwise). THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING SIGNATURE on behalf of the named signer — only call it with that person’s explicit authorization. The signed LOA is rendered to PDF and filed with the FCC data
get_onboarding_statusWhere a firm stands in onboarding, by its onboarding token: plan, LOA status (signed / approved), billing status. No key needed.
